Labor
BOMA/Chicago holds the distinction of being the only BOMA local association to negotiate directly with unions as the collective bargaining agent for our members. BOMA/Chicago's Labor Committee negotiates wages, benefits and working conditions for workers in three key service industries - janitorial, engineering and security. The resulting labor agreements include advantageous terms that give our members flexibility in subcontracting, workweek scheduling and pensions and benefits. The agreements also limit picketing and, in some cases, prohibit strikes.
In addition to the labor agreements, BOMA/Chicago uses our advocacy capabilities, the experience of our Labor Committee members and the expertise of our labor counsel to monitor and shape developments in labor law that impact our members.
